Ouch - 2020 has literally hurt, hasn’t it? I am ready to say “Buh bye 2020”!
I just want to touch base and give you a virtual hug - because we are all deficient in our hug quotas. I do not even shake hands with new clients and it makes me so sad. The good news is that we are nearly to the end of 2020.
The number of clients I have seen this year have been record breaking. People are dealing with a lot of painful circumstances. We have done a lot of crying in my office but we have also laughed a lot!
I am not a doctor, nurse, scientist, or nutritionist but I do know that we need to consider the knowledge of all of these experts in order to experience good mental health. I wrote a blog post earlier this year about the need for Vitamin D, especially in regards to preventing and reducing the symptoms of Covid. I want to stress the importance of getting sun and supplementing with this important vitamin. I have read that many doctors recommend 5,000-10,000 International units. Many of my clients with anxiety and depression are low in this vitamin. Zinc, selenium and magnesium are also important in regards to fighting off this new virus. Quercetin combined with zinc can disable the virus before it has a chance to multiply. Do your own research into this!
Family interactions may look different this year but it may still be full of the drama of unhealthy family of origin issues. Consider how you can be a better YOU, even if others do not change. There may be a need for a calm conversation in order to repair past hurts. Forgiveness is almost always needed. Take some deep breaths and let some things go. Try to hug yourself!
I will be accepting new clients at the beginning of the year so please get in touch if you need some help. In the meantime, consider something fun or relaxing that you can do to lift your spirits. I hope you have a lovely holiday season!
