Rain Rain Go Away!

Hello dear blog readers! How have we gotten 2 full months into 2020??

If you are in South Carolina, I think we have floated into 2020 via all of the rain we have received (and are still receiving as I write this)! I am trying to counteract my negative thoughts about “why isn’t the sun out??” with a more positive “reframing” as we call it in counseling. I am verbally saying, “Thank you for the rain. We aren’t in a drought anymore! Maybe we will really be thankful for the water this summer when it’s hot.”

On a side note, the lack of sunshine can lead to a lack of vitamin D in our bodies and that can be a drain on our mental health. Please get outside when the sun DOES come out! Do not wear your sunglasses or sunscreen - at least for a few minutes. Your eyes need that sunlight - there are all sorts of amazing things your body does with those rays.

I’m working hard here in 2020 at Pam Litchford Counseling to meet with new and old clients. If you read my last blog, you’ll know that my hope for this year is to get clients in and out of counseling in a timely manner so that they aren’t in counseling FOREVER. It seems to be working! I’m continually amazed at the work my clients put into their lives outside of counseling to make positive health changes - physically, mentally, and even spiritually.

If that is not you, and you are feeling like a slug, couch potato or just plain stuck in life- come see me and let’s make some changes in your life. Who cares that it isn’t January 1st?! It’s never too late to take a new path!
